It’s Fuel Good Day at Peninsula Co-op.
Today, five cents from every litre of fuel sold at any of Peninsula Co-op’s 18 Gas Centres, including Campbell River and Comox, will be donated to Help Fill A Dream.
Last year, Co-op members and customers across Western Canada raised more than $650,000 for over 195 local organizations and causes – all in a single day.
Since its launch in 2017, more than $3 million dollars raised through Fuel Good Day have gone to over 700 local organizations, supporting the communities they serve.
Craig Smith, Executive Director at Help Fill a Dream, says they’ve been making dreams come true for children with life-threatening or critical conditions for the last 36 years.
He says it’s only been possible with the continued support of the community and incredible partners like Peninsula Co-op.
Smith says Fuel Good Day is an easy way to help support Island kids with life-threatening illnesses, simply by filling up their tanks with fuel they need anyway.
Peninsula Co-op says that thanks to the Hyatt Family Foundation, funds raised this year will be matched up to $25,000.
Also, one winner from each gas station will win a pair of tickets to a day of Canucks Training Camp.
In addition to making dreams come true, Help Fill A Dream offers families financial assistance to help with travel costs associated with receiving health care, medical or therapeutic equipment to address special needs, and therapeutic resources.
If you already have a full tank, you can make a donation online at Peninsula Co-op.
