Work should begin soon to replace the Hoskyn Channel Landing Dock.
The dock and ramp are being replaced to provide more moorage space and a safer facility for users.
Use of the dock and access to and from the shore will be restricted throughout the removal and installation process, but it may be possible to use the site for beach landings.
The SRD suggests Heriot Bay and Granite Bay as alternate access options when construction gets underway.
The exact dates aren’t yet known, but it’s estimated to take place mid-March.
Anticipated construction timeline and restrictions:
- Day 1 – removal of existing dock and ramp.
- Day 2 and 3 – installation of new dock and ramp
- Use of the dock and access to/from the shore will be restricted throughout the removal and installation process.
- It may be possible to use the site for beach landings.
Suggested alternate access options during construction:
- Heriot Bay and Granite Bay
- Cars may need to be relocated to alternate locations ahead of time.
