Much of B-C's coastal region is expected to return to seasonal temperatures today, but East Vancouver Island and other southern and central regions will suffer for another day or two.
Heat warnings are still in place. For Campbell River and the Comox Valley, temperatures are expected to lower a few degrees on Thursday as the ridge begins to break down. More than a dozen heat records were broken across BC yesterday - Lytton saw the highest recorded temperature of the year for Canada, coming in at 42.1 Celsius.
