A new agreement under the Shared Recovery Mandate has been ratified between the Health Employers Association of BC and health science professionals.
Approximately 22,000 health science workers will be covered under the agreement - including medical and radiation techs, pharmacists, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers, and physiotherapists.
Following negotiations, the newly ratified agreement will be in effect until March 31, 2025, and will include general wage increases, and new wage structures.
This year will see a 25 cent per hour increase, next year will see 5.5 percent with a cost of living adjustment maxing out at 6.75 percent, and a maximum of three percent in the third year.
Through a modernized classification system, the agreement also hopes to recruit and retain health science professionals.
Making BC more competitive with other jurisdictions and addressing Indigenous-specific anti-racism initiatives will also be covered under the agreement.
Approximately 235,000 public sector employees are under ratified agreements under the Shared Recovery Mandate which works to improve health care, protect essential services, and support strong economic recovery.
