Habitat for Humanity will be hosting a spooky fundraiser in support of construction of affordable housing affecting many residents in Vancouver Island.

Their spine-tingling haunted house fundraiser at 461 Hilchey Road in Campbell River goes on Halloween Night.

The event is sponsored by The Campbell River Museum, the Chamber of Commerce, and other local organizations.

A release from Habitat says ‘’volunteers will play a role in the ghostly encounters awaiting brave residents who dare enter the haunted house.’’

It’s happening Halloween Night from 6pm to 9pm with a suggested donation of $5 per person - children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Organizers say by participating in this haunted house fundraiser, you're directly contributing to building better futures for local families in need, calling it a fun way for the community to come together, have a frightfully good time, and make a real difference in the lives of local families.

Every dollar raised during this event goes towards Habitat for Humanity's affordable housing initiatives on Vancouver Island North.

Keeping Our Word

The word "éy7á7juuthem" means “Language of our People” and is the ancestral tongue of the Homalco, Tla’amin, Klahoose and K’ómoks First Nations, with dialectic differences in each community.

It is pronounced "eye-ya-jooth-hem."
