The Comox Valley RCMP is turning its holding cells into a house of horror later this month.
On October 29th, the detachment will host its first-ever Haunted Cell Block - transforming the cells on Ryan Road in Courtenay into a spooky maze where visitors will help “watch the prisoners”… as things start to get strange.
The event runs from 6 to 10 p.m. and it’s first come, first served. Admission is by donation to Comox Valley Search and Rescue or non-perishable food for the Salvation Army.
Cst. Monika Terragni says it’s a fun way to connect with the community - with a few scares mixed in.
Parking will be limited at the detachment, so visitors are asked to park across the street at Comox Valley Dodge or the Real Canadian Superstore and walk over.
And a word of caution - this event includes flashing lights, loud sounds, and tight spaces, so it’s not recommended for everyone, especially young children or those with certain medical conditions.
