Cumberland residents are being reminded about what can be placed at the curb for today’s solid-waste collection.
Single-family residences may put out one can of garbage, along with unlimited organics and yard waste.
Households with additional garbage can purchase tags for extra containers from the Village office for two dollars each.
The Village is also encouraging residents to use WasteWise, a free online tool and mobile app that provides personalized collection information.
Residents can use WasteWise to check their collection schedule, receive notifications about pickup delays and find out whether different household items can be recycled or where they should be disposed of.
Those using the mobile app can choose to receive a collection reminder either the night before pickup or on the morning of collection day.
Residents whose waste remains uncollected at the end of today should contact Emterra directly at 250-336-8066 to report a missed or delayed pickup.
The complete 2026 collection schedule and additional information about Cumberland’s solid-waste services are available at Village of Cumberland.
