There is a fundraiser this weekend as construction continues on a new football field in Oceanside.

The field behind Ballenas High School is currently under construction and will soon be shared between the Ballenas Whalers & The Oceanside Lions football clubs.

They’re hosting a joint fundraiser on Saturday to help build a clubhouse that will benefit both organizations for years to come.

Crab Mania, takes place Saturday just outside the French Creek Seafood Market, from 8 AM to 4 PM.

Live, fresh Dungeness crab is being shipped directly from Prince Rupert and will be available for purchase.  They'll also cook them on site for you by donation.

Locals from in and around Parksville/Qualicum are being invited to help kickstart the fundraiser.
