A local group has made a big donation to support the purchase of the latest Echocardiography Machine for the Campbell River Hospital’s Heart and Lung Department.
The First Open Heart Society - Campbell River Chapter, has donated $20-thousand dollars to go toward the purchase.
The machine uses high frequency waves to provide essential diagnostic capabilities, significantly enhancing cardiac care at the hospital.
By positioning a transducer on the patient’s chest and directing it towards the heart, this advanced technology emits high-frequency sound waves and captures their echoes, converting them into electrical impulses.
These impulses are then transformed into dynamic images of the heart, enabling medical professionals to make accurate diagnosis and informed treatment decisions.
In a release the Hospital Foundation says the First Open Heart Society is a remarkable group of individuals who share a deep passion for giving back to the heart health community.
They are always looking for new members, who can help expand their impact and contribute to raising even more funds to further enrich healthcare in the community.
