It’s Family Day Weekend and there are many events for you and the family to check out.

The City of Campbell River Recreation and Culture Team is inviting families to the Sportsplex for a pancake breakfast and a variety of activities.

Family gym, basketball, racquetball, table tennis, crafts, games and more available - breakfast gets underway at 9 a.m.

In Courtenay, they’re offering free entertainment and activities on Monday at the Lewis Centre, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and lots to do right across the street at the LINC Youth Centre, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Youth Centre will be open for a little bit of everything - ping pong, air hockey, foosball, scootering and skateboarding, and other family friendly games and activities.

The Lewis Centre is bringing in Mr. Day - a well-known children’s performer on YouTube, also known as Desmond Day.

The Comox Valley Sports Centre is hosting a FREE Everyone Welcome Skate from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and an Everyone Welcome Swim from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

For events in Campbell River for Family Day, visit Strathcona Gardens.

For events in the Comox Valley for Family Day, visit Comox Valley Regional District.

Keeping Our Word

The word "éy7á7juuthem" means “Language of our People” and is the ancestral tongue of the Homalco, Tla’amin, Klahoose and K’ómoks First Nations, with dialectic differences in each community.

It is pronounced "eye-ya-jooth-hem."
