If you’re a fan of Facebook, you’ve probably noticed a lack of news over the last several weeks.
Facebook and Instagram parent company Meta has begun blocking news content on pages of news and media outlets across the country; its response to the federal government’s Bill C-18, which would have forced Meta to pay news organizations for stories shared on its platforms. And, 100.7 The Raven’s Facebook page is no exception. Meta has indeed blocked much of the content from being viewed on our Facebook page - and The Raven has appealed. While our Facebook page was more entertainment based, we have posted news stories from time-to-time - and that’s what has raised alarms at Meta. So, we invite you to find our NEW Facebook page - @TheRaven100.7FM - where we'll try to keep the news away. We can’t guarantee if the page will last - our people have tried, unsuccessfully, to make a post explaining the changes to our listeners, but even that is being deleted.
