Environment Canada Warns Coastal B.C. About Incoming Winter Storm

Monday, January 8, 2024 at 7:37 AM

By Jay Herrington

Some winter weather is finally on the way.

Environment Canada is warning of significant snow accumulations for inland sections of the central and south coasts.

There’s also the potential for snow along the coastal sections of the south coast and eastern Vancouver Island followed by heavy rain, and very strong winds for western areas.

Community members are advised to check DriveBC for updated road closures and conditions.

Lower Mainland drivers are in a mess today.

There are winter storm watches for drivers on the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt and from Hope to Princeton until Wednesday morning.
