And there’s the fall weather.
Environment Canada has issued wind warnings for Vancouver Island’s coastal areas - including East Vancouver Island from Campbell River to Nanoose Bay, and the Sunshine Coast, down to Powell River.
This is the first wind storm of this autumn with full foliage. The heavy tree branches are more prone to breaking in strong winds and it may lead to more damage and power outage than subsequent wind storms of similar wind speeds later in the season.
Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage.
Along with today’s wind, thunderstorms as well, with rain in the forecast through to the end of the week.
