The province will be testing the BC Emergency Alert system on Wednesday, May 10, 2023.
The alerts are broadcast on TV, radio, and cell phones to provide urgent, life-saving information during emergencies.
Tomorrow’s test will happen at 1:55 p.m.
During the test, the public will hear an alert tone and receive a message indicating that it is indeed, just a test.
The province notes there will be no reason to call 9-1-1 for additional information about the test - and obviously, only call 9-1-1 for life-threatening emergencies.
