A local group is hosting a presentation later this month on the importance of an effective and caring publicly funded home support program.
BC Seniors Advocate Isobel Mackenzie will provide an update on the current state of home care in the province, followed by a discussion on why it is vital that government provides a high standard of care to elders at home wherever possible.
‘’Elders Take Action’’ is a local seniors’ group, organizing and leading discussions on issues of importance to seniors.
The group says most older adults wish to remain as independent as possible in their homes, but question whether the government is making the right plans to build upon and improve the current system of home care.
The event will take place Monday, June 26th - from 2pm to 4pm - at the Florence Filberg Centre
