Earthquakes Hit Vancouver Island Over The Weekend

Vancouver Island shook a little over the weekend.

At least three quakes struck the coast yesterday morning - measuring between 4.2 and 5.5 - the last of them yesterday hitting about 185 kilometres west of Port Hardy.

 

Earthquakes Canada says the quakes ranged between 4.0 and 5.5 in magnitude on Sunday.

Three small earthquakes were reported off the coast of Vancouver Island.

The time of earthquakes were 2:58, 4:28 and 8:19 a.m.

Natural Resources Canada says as many as 30 or more minor quakes have struck off northern Vancouver Island since Thursday. But, they also say that’s pretty normal.
