Island Health has issued a Drug Poisoning Overdose Advisory for Campbell River.

Issued late last week, the advisory will be in place until at least Thursday.

If someone near you overdoses, call 911 immediately, give one breath every 5 seconds, and administer Naloxone if available.

For harm reduction services and information, including naloxone programs, visit Toward the Heart.

To report a toxic drug event and/or poisoning, text OD to 253787.

If you’re using alone, try the Lifeguard App or the Brave App, or call the National Overdose Response Service at 1-888-688-6677.

Check out Island Health’s Overdose Prevention Services page to find information on overdose prevention and supervised consumption sites, drug-checking services and more.

For Indigenous-specific information, visit the First Nations Health Authority’s Overdose Prevention and Harm Reduction pages.
