The new Downtown Comox pop-up park is now lit up, a bright addition thanks to the Comox BIA and the Town of Comox's lighting initiative.
The lighting project, which started last fall, has now been extended to the full length of the Harbour Greenway (Downtown Comox to Comox Marina Park) and the pop-up park space on Comox Avenue and Port Augusta. Improved marina-pedestrian connectivity was part of the Downtown Economic Development Strategy.
Sharon Neville, Secretary, Comox BIA Board, they are thrilled to be able to collaborate with the Town in expanding the Lighting the Alleyways project to now include an additional pathway that connects to the harbour and to illuminate and activate the old Lorne Hotel site into a welcoming public space in the heart of downtown.
She adds projects like this play a vital role in enhancing the downtown into a vibrant, connected community, one that’s active, welcoming, and enjoyable all year round.
