Discovery Pier remains temporarily closed to the public while structural repair work continues.

While the City of Campbell River says it anticipated partially reopening the pier today and fully reopening it on May 30th, unforeseen challenges due to weather conditions, availability of materials and unexpected additional repair work have impacted the project schedule.

The southern portion of the pier (where the concession stand is located) is now projected to reopen on Saturday, May 24th.

The City figures it will be fully reopening the pier in late June, depending on tides, weather and if any additional repairs are required.

They ask residents to continue to follow all signage and safety controls in place.

Updates will be shared on the City’s website and social media channels.
