The City of Courtenay and the Town of Comox have nearly completed the delivery of automated curbside collection carts, bringing the municipalities one step closer to the program's official launch on January 2nd.
Each property transitioning should have received three carts for garbage, recycling, and organics.
While every effort has been made to deliver carts to all properties, the municipalities say some may have been missed.
Residents who have not received their carts in Comox already, or in Courtenay by December 15th are encouraged to contact Public Works.
The last collection pick-up under the current system will be Friday December 29th.
The blue zone in Comox will have an additional recycling pick-up on Saturday, December 30th, with the new automated collection carts first being used on January 2nd.
Both municipalities are asking residents to familiarize themselves with the new system; exactly what goes where and proper cart placement.
