Premier David Eby says he will be among Canada’s Premiers who will be travelling to Washington, DC next month.
The group is there to talk tariffs.
Eby says they'll meet with Republicans and Democrats about the harm tariffs will cause both sides of the border.
Donald Trump has promised 25 percent tariffs on Canadian products making it to American shelves after he’s sworn in as President, in less than two weeks.
He’s also been talking of late about having Canada become America’s 51st state, something the Premiers are clapping back at.
“I am a proud Canadian and British Columbian,” Eby said.
“We will never sacrifice our identity or independence to any other country. We will always stand strong against any threat to our people.”
