The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) will soon have a new Chief Financial Officer.
As the CFO, Lucy Wiwcharuk will lead the financial, accounting, insurance, procurement, asset management and contracting functions for the organization and will be key in ensuring an integrated approach aligning to the CVRD Board’s strategic priorities.
Wiwcharuk comes to the CVRD from the City of Airdrie, Alberta, where she has been the Director of Corporate Service and CFO since 2012 where she provided strategic leadership to the organization and oversaw various departments including financial services, procurement, risk management, revenue and assessment services, and information technology.
Chief Administrative Officer, Russell Dyson, says fiscal responsibility at the CVRD is one of its highest priorities, especially in such uncertain economic times. Dyson says Wiwcharuk (Vi-chair-oak) will contribute to the district’s stability as an organization and help achieve its goal, which is to “deliver top quality services to residents in an affordable and responsible way.”
Wiwcharuk will take over the role on August 8, 2022.
