The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) is seeking input from the community to review emerging directions for its Regional Parks and Trails Strategic Plan process.

Feedback will help shape how the CVRD plans for, manages, and invests in new regional parks and trails over the next 20+ years.

The CVRD received input from interest groups and partners in Phase One that helped shape the emerging directions for how the CVRD might plan for future Regional Parks and Trails in the Comox Valley.

Phase Two, now underway, is focused on sharing the emerging directions broadly with the community, listening to ideas, and understanding community priorities for the future.

Residents are encouraged to drop-in to any of five in-person Community Open Houses taking place between January 24 and February 7 and / or participate in the Virtual Session on February 8th.

The community survey is open until February 19th, available both online and in hard copy at open house events.

January 24 – Cumberland Chamber | 4:30 – 6:30 pm
January 30 – Union Bay Community Hall | 4:30 – 6:30 pm
January 31 – Comox Community Centre Room A | 4:30 – 6:30 pm
February 6 – Courtenay Florence Filberg Centre (Conference Hall) | 4:30 – 6:30 pm
February 7 – Merville Community Hall | 4:30 – 6:30 pm
February 8 – Virtual Information Session (Zoom) |Registration Required | 12 -1:15 pm

“Feedback is central to this process, including hearing from K’ómoks First Nation representatives, local and regional interest groups, and the general public,” says Daniel Arbour, Chair of the Regional Parks, and Trails Committee.

“We hope to see many Comox Valley residents provide their views on the priorities for the new regional parks service.”

Feedback gathered will help draft the Regional Parks and Trails Strategic Plan in the spring, with the hope that the draft plan will be ready in the summer.

Keeping Our Word

The word "éy7á7juuthem" means “Language of our People” and is the ancestral tongue of the Homalco, Tla’amin, Klahoose and K’ómoks First Nations, with dialectic differences in each community.

It is pronounced "eye-ya-jooth-hem."
