The Comox Valley Regional District is looking to implement a septic regulatory program within Electoral Areas A, B and C to help reduce the impacts of sewage contamination in sensitive water courses.
"Protecting our environment and ensuring a healthy ecosystem is a top priority,” explains Marc Rutten, General Manager of Engineering Services.
“The CVRD is recommending mandatory pump-outs of septic systems in all electoral areas plus requirements for inspections for high risk areas.”
There’s an information session taking place later this month, a drop-in at the CVRD office on Harmston Ave - on Monday, April 29th, from 5pm to 7pm.
Residents can also ask questions, provide feedback and watch a virtual presentation on the proposed program at Engage Comox Valley.
