The Comox Valley Regional District is recognizing nine summer students who spent the past several months gaining practical experience and contributing to projects across the organization.

The students completed their 2026 work terms in a variety of departments, including planning, solid waste, water, wastewater and parks.

The Comox Valley RD says its summer students brought fresh perspectives, new ideas and current academic knowledge to the workplace while developing their skills and building their resumés.

Long Range Planning student Joshua Smith said he was grateful for the opportunity, adding that each day provided new insight into the complex and rewarding work involved in building stronger communities for the future.

The Regional District is also recognizing the managers and mentors who took time to guide, support and empower the students throughout their work terms.
