The First Street road rebuild in Cumberland has begun. This week, pre-construction prep-work is underway.
During construction, First street will be closed to all traffic between Penrith and Dunsmuir Avenue with local traffic only to accommodate deliveries that use the lane.
There will be no through vehicle traffic during construction, but pedestrian access will be maintained.
Access to the Cultural Centre parking lot will remain open during construction from the Penrith entrance or approaching from First street southbound.
Work should be completed by late Spring.
