As part of the 2024 Willemar Avenue Pedestrian, Cycling, and Pavement Renewal capital project, paving work is about to get underway at the roundabout at Cumberland Road and Willemar Avenue.
The City of Courtenay says work is scheduled to take place next week; Wednesday, August 7th & Thursday, August 8th from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., weather permitting.
During construction the roundabout at Cumberland Road and Willemar Avenue will be closed to traffic during working hours; a detour route will be in effect.
Traffic control personnel will be onsite and at intersections on the detour route directing vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists in the area.
Local traffic will be able to enter and exit the area and access their properties.
For any questions regarding this project, residents are asked to contact Operational Services, City of Courtenay at (250) 338-1525 or or email operations@courtenay.ca.
