The Cumberland Fire Department is out in the community making sure people have working smoke alarms.
Under the B.C. Fire Code, each dwelling – whether owned or rented – must have a working smoke alarm.
Members of the fire department have begun going door to door, starting in the older sections of the Village, offering home inspections and replacement of any expired smoke detectors.
You can book an appointment by giving them a call (250-400-9200) and learn more at Village of Cumberland.
