Comox Strathcona Waste Management is renewing its Solid Waste Management Plan and is looking for input from the public.
The Plan will guide how garbage, recycling, yard, and food waste programs are managed for the next decade within the Comox Valley and Strathcona Regional Districts.
The draft plan is now available for final public review through to April 24.

CSWM Board Co-Chair Will Cole-Hamilton says the draft reflects the changing needs of the area and ensures they are prioritizing responsible use of funds, waste diversion, environmental protection and community education.
The Province recommends plans be renewed every 10 years to ensure they reflect best practices and the evolving realities of solid waste.
The last plan was updated in 2012, and since then, the service area population has grown 13 percent, and is forecasted to grow.
The draft plan incorporates four years of consultation with the Regional Solid Waste Advisory Committee, partner municipalities, First Nations, and public engagement.
