Cozy Corner Preschool at the Lewis Centre will soon be a little - or a lot - more affordable for parents and caregivers.

The preschool, operated by Courtenay Recreation, has been selected as a provider under the Provincial Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative.

In addition, starting this fall, Cozy Corner is offering more sessions and extended hours to expand the service.

Sessions are now either three or four hours and take place Monday/Wednesday/Friday (morning or afternoon) or Tuesday/Thursday (morning or afternoon).

More details about reduced rates under the Provincial Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative will be provided to participants once available.

Courtenay Recreation anticipates learning more about the specific fee reduction later this month. September participants will be credited retroactively for the fee adjustment once this information becomes available.

Cozy Corner includes a new accessible outdoor play space designed for children from two to five years old and features fun age-appropriate equipment like a saddle spinner, custom play fort, log steppers, and more.

The play space is used by preschool participants when in session but is also available to the public after 4:30 p.m. on weekdays and all day on the weekends.

For more information call the Lewis Centre at 250-338-5371 or visit Cozy Corner
