Courtenay's 2024 Annual Report Available For Review And Feedback

The City of Courtenay has released its draft 2024 Annual Report highlighting progress during the year on Council’s 2023 - 2026 strategic priorities, as well as the audited financial statements.

Highlights from 2024 included the initiation of the Downtown Vitalization Local Area Plan project, new playground design standards, the launch of automated residential curbside collection, as well as the replacement of the 1st Street Lift Station and sewer infrastructure, and free swims for the season at the Courtenay Outdoor Pool.

The City’s priorities include streets and transportation, buildings and landscape, affordable housing, natural environment, parks and recreation, municipal infrastructure, social infrastructure, arts, culture and heritage, food systems, local economy, good governance, public safety, organizational well-being and sustainability and financial sustainability.

BC's Community Charter requires that all municipalities prepare an annual report before June 30th each year.
