The City of Courtenay is asking residents for feedback as it develops a long-term plan for Bill Moore Park and Dogwood Park.

The Strategic Plan will look at the two parks as one connected system, including sports fields, the lawn bowling club, playground, Rotary Trail, and surrounding green spaces.

The goal is to help guide future improvements by enhancing amenities, accessibility, safety, and connections throughout the parks.

The project is now entering its second phase. Draft concepts have been developed using feedback gathered earlier this year through surveys, workshops, and community events, along with technical analysis and planning requirements.

Residents can review the concepts and share their thoughts through an online survey, or attend a public open house at the Lewis Centre on Tuesday, August 18th, from 5 until 8 p.m.

The survey is open until September 15th, with paper copies also available at several City facilities, including City Hall, the Lewis Centre, the LINC, the Florence Filberg Centre, and the Courtenay Library.

The City says feedback from this phase will help shape the final Strategic Plan, creating a long-term vision for the parks while protecting natural areas and ensuring they continue to meet the community's recreational needs.
