Contractors are installing a new traffic signal controller at the intersection of 26th St at Fitzgerald Avenue in Courtenay on Tuesday.

During this work, the traffic lights will be off for several hours, with traffic control personnel on-site directing commuters.

The City asks community members to drive carefully around the crews for their safety and yours.

Keeping Our Word

The word "éy7á7juuthem" means “Language of our People” and is the ancestral tongue of the Homalco, Tla’amin, Klahoose and K’ómoks First Nations, with dialectic differences in each community.

It is pronounced "eye-ya-jooth-hem."
