The City of Courtenay has cancelled its property tax sale scheduled for Monday, September 28, after all remaining properties were removed from the auction list.

The City says there are no longer any properties subject to sale, meaning the auction scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Florence Filberg Centre will not proceed.

Earlier this month, six Courtenay properties had been listed for possible auction because of delinquent property taxes.

Under B.C.’s municipal tax-sale process, a property can be removed from the auction if the required delinquent taxes and accumulated interest are paid before the sale takes place.

Campbell River’s annual property tax sale, meanwhile, remained scheduled as of Thursday.

That auction is expected to begin at 10 a.m. Monday in Council Chambers at Campbell River City Hall.

The list of properties included in Campbell River’s sale may also change before the auction if outstanding amounts are paid.
