A 4-month pilot project on recycling in Cortes has come to a close.
The Strathcona Regional District says while the glass collection pilot has ended, they are asking residents to continue supporting the curbside program by placing non-glass recyclables out for pick-up as part of your regular scheduled service.
Non-glass refundables are still being accepted.
In the upcoming months, the SRD says it will go over the results and explore the possibility of incorporating it into its regular service.
The Strathcona Regional District provides solid waste service in Cortes Island and the Sayward Valley. Of the two areas, only Cortes has curbside recycling.
