This year’s Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock team pedaled through Campbell River yesterday.
The team is just four days into their 14-day, 12-hundred kilometre trek across Vancouver Island, and they’ve already reached the half-way mark of their goal of raising 1 million dollars.
The Tour has raised 28 million for childhood cancer research and support services at the Canadian Cancer Society, along with support programs like Camp Goodtimes, since 1998.
Spectators will be cheering on some local riders the next couple days.
They’re in Courtenay and Comox today - Ajinkya Chodankar from Courtenay Fire Rescue is part of the team. So too is Kirk Wolstenholme from Parksville Fire Rescue.
They’re all in Parksville tomorrow, along with Cumberland, Union Bay, and Qualicum Beach.
