Crews will begin clearing Farmview Road in Comox today in preparation for construction of the new sewer forcemain.
It will be closed and remain closed until work is complete.
Work will take place in two sections with the first being an archaeological zone.
Construction in that stretch will move slowly westward, anticipated to be complete by mid-February.
Section 2 will move east along Farmview Road, then head east across farm fields.
Construction will take place Monday to Saturday, from 7:00 am – 7:00 pm daily.
The entire road will not be accessible as a pedestrian path for the duration of construction.
The CVRD says it appreciates the construction may be a large inconvenience, especially for residents with homes on Farmview.
One-way west-bound traffic, from Comox to Courtenay, will be starting in the spring and more information regarding uni-directional traffic on Comox Road will be shared soon.
