The Town of Comox is asking residents for input as it begins work on a new concept plan for Lancaster Park.
The neighbourhood park on Lancaster Way has been identified as a priority for future improvements under the Town's Parks and Trails Master Plan.
Officials say the project is intended to help meet the needs of a growing community by enhancing recreational opportunities, improving accessibility, and creating spaces that better serve families, children, and youth.
The concept plan will look at a range of possible upgrades, including expanded play areas for different age groups, improved accessibility features, additional shade and seating, gathering spaces, potential cooling or water features, improved pathways, and support amenities such as washrooms.
Residents will have an opportunity to learn more about the project and provide feedback during an outdoor community event at Lancaster Park on June 24th from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
The event will take place near the park's willow tunnel.
If weather conditions are poor, it will be moved to the entrance of the nearby Comox Quality Foods.
More information about the project is available at Engage Comox Valley.
