Due to Puntledge River inflow levels set out by BC Hydro, the Comox Valley Water System has reduced water restrictions to Stage 2, for residents in Courtenay and Comox, and properties in the Comox Valley Water Local Service Area.
“Thank you for doing your part in respecting the Stage 3 water restrictions”, says Kris La Rose, Senior Manager of Water/Wastewater Services with the CVRD.
“BC Hydro has indicated an inflow increase to 13 cubic metres per second, which allows us to bring the restrictions back to Stage 2. It is still important for Comox Valley residents to remain diligent and continue to be thoughtful with your water use”.
The Comox Valley Regional District says although they are reducing water restrictions, rainfall continues to be significantly lower than usual.
During Stage 2 Restrictions, you may only use a sprinkler to water a lawn and garden with an even numbered address on Tuesdays and Saturdays from the hours of 6-8 a.m. and 8-10 p.m.
Odd numbered addresses are permitted to water on Wednesdays and Sundays during those same hours.
