Residents and contractors planning renovation work in the Comox Valley are being advised of a temporary disposal restriction next week.
The Comox Valley Waste Management Centre in Cumberland will not accept renovation drywall from Tuesday, October 13 through Friday, October 16.
The four-day restriction is required to allow for asbestos testing.
Anyone who needs to dispose of drywall from a renovation project is being encouraged to plan ahead, make alternate arrangements or wait until the testing period has ended.
Customers should confirm that drywall service has resumed before transporting material to the facility following the temporary restriction.
Complete information about accepted materials, testing requirements and drywall disposal procedures is available at Comox Strathcona Waste Management.
