Comox Valley Ground Search and Rescue is looking for a new place to call home - and you can help fund the project through an on-line auction.
The team has played a vital role in the Comox Valley for over 40 years, however, their lease is ending, and the group is looking for new digs.
It is expected that the purchase price of an existing building, or the price to build new, will be about $1.5 million.
A lot of items are available in the auction, which closes on December 11th.
The Comox Search and Rescue team is a 100% volunteer organization, on call 24x7, 365 days a year, providing a wide range of search and rescue services: including rope and swift water rescue, avalanche rescue, and first aid to a wide area, while working closely with other Search and Rescue groups to provide mutual aid to communities across the province.
Last year, the team had 76 requests for assistance.
So far, the auction has raised close to $7-thousand dollars.
