A ride hail service in the Comox Valley is picking up steam.

A ride hail service in the Comox Valley is picking up steam.

Coastal Rides has resumed fulltime service and is looking for more drivers to expand even further in the community.

Drivers must have a commercial driver's license, clean police and driving records, and a vehicle that is no more than 10 years old.

Coastal Rides founder Ryan Staley says his company has been working to get more drivers in the community and says they have solid coverage during the day and into the evening.

Not only are customers using the service to get around the Valley, Staley says there's been an increase in those connecting to airports, ferries and destinations on the north and south island and even to Tofino.

Keeping Our Word

The word "éy7á7juuthem" means “Language of our People” and is the ancestral tongue of the Homalco, Tla’amin, Klahoose and K’ómoks First Nations, with dialectic differences in each community.

It is pronounced "eye-ya-jooth-hem."
