The Comox Valley Regional District begins its 2024-2028 financial planning process today and is looking for Comox Valley residents to get involved.

Each year, the CVRD updates the five-year financial plan outlining the operational and capital requirements of each service from one budget year to the next.

Five-year plans are required by the province and the CVRD says it continues to develop long-term strategies to remain financially responsible and allow for effective service delivery.

Each service is reviewed, and budgets are created based on approved work plans and organizational priorities.

Starting next month, core service overviews will be presented to the CVRD Board and individual services will be presented to their respective boards, committees and commissions for review and feedback.

Budget presentations will occur until February 13th and the District encourages questions, comments, and feedback on the plans - with concerns in by February 21st.

The District hopes to have things finalized by mid-March and the CVRD is legally required to have its budget adopted by March 31st.

Visit Engage Comox Valley for more info, and to provide feedback.
