The Comox Valley Regional District is reminding residents to keep their dogs on a leash.
Parks Manager Mark Harrison says concerns have been raised regarding unleashed dogs chasing and killing livestock.
He says some dogs have displayed harassing behaviour towards park patrons.
This spring and summer, the CVRD Bylaw team will be actively patrolling the parks and trails systems and fining individuals who are not following dog-leashing or dog-under-control requirements.
Allowing an animal to run at large in a park or failing to keep it on a leash comes with a $100 fine.
