With more and more people using online options, Comox Valley recreation departments are changing how the quarterly Comox Valley Recreation Guide is distributed.

With more and more people using online options, Comox Valley recreation departments are changing how the quarterly Comox Valley Recreation Guide is distributed.

Instead of distributing to every household, the guide will be available for pick-up at your local recreation centres, at various community locations, and online starting with the Fall 2022 Recreation Guide.

The fall guide will be published Wednesday, August 10th with registration starting Monday, August 15th.

Ryan Parton, Cumberland’s Interim Manager of Recreation, says shifting to pick-up from distribution will save around 25-thousand pounds of paper every year.

Recreation Guides will be available for pickup at local recreation centres, as well as libraries, grocery stores, and North Island College.

Keeping Our Word

The word "éy7á7juuthem" means “Language of our People” and is the ancestral tongue of the Homalco, Tla’amin, Klahoose and K’ómoks First Nations, with dialectic differences in each community.

It is pronounced "eye-ya-jooth-hem."
