Comox Valley RCMP are looking to identify the suspect in a theft that happened during Market Day on Saturday, July 20th in Courtenay.
The suspect reportedly took a generator from a parking lot on the corner of 5th Street and England Avenue, sometime between 5pm and 6pm.
Investigators spoke with businesses in the area and were able to locate surveillance footage of two suspects exchanging the stolen generator.
The suspect was wearing a red t-shirt and blue knee length baggy shorts with several wide stripes. He has short brown hair, and the image shows him not wearing shoes.
It also showed the suspect standing next to an orange/red, small four door vehicle, and it appears he may have been talking with the driver.
Constable Monika Terragni says police are concerned and disappointed that theft affected not only local businesses, but a community event meant for everyone to enjoy.
Anyone with information, or who can identify the suspect(s) is asked to call the Comox Valley RCMP at (250) 338-1321 and refer to file 2024-11201.
