Comox Valley RCMP is looking for help as it investigates a series of collisions last month.

They occurred on Monday, February 27th, with the first call coming in around 6:15 pm.

A witness reported an erratic driver operating a pick-up truck in the 5300-block of Island Highway North.

A short time later, another witness reported the driver had clipped the mirror on his vehicle while travelling northbound on Island Highway North at Smith Road.

Two more calls were received reporting that the driver of this vehicle had crashed into their vehicles. One was on the 2700-block of Island Highway North and the other on the 6000-block of Island Highway North.

“The pick-up truck was located, abandoned, on Merville Road just west of Headquarters Road in Courtenay and a suspect was located and arrested nearby,” said Constable Monika Terragni, Media Relations Officer, Comox Valley RCMP.

“We are looking for anyone who saw this pick-up truck in the area between 6:00 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. and might have dashcam footage of the driving behaviour before the vehicle was abandoned.”

The pick-up truck is a grey 2018 Ford F-150, BC License plate RD2 98V.

Witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage is asked to contact the Comox Valley RCMP or call (250) 338-1321 and refer to file 2023-3037.
