Comox Valley RCMP Seek Assistance In Identifying Driver

Comox Valley RCMP are releasing a photo in an effort to identify the driver of a truck involved in damaging the Pride-themed rainbow crosswalk on 5th Street at Duncan Avenue in Courtenay.

The incident occurred on August 23, 2025, at approximately 6:20 p.m.

Investigators are seeking to identify and speak with the driver, the passenger, and anyone who may have witnessed the event or has information that could assist the investigation.

Constable Monika Terragni says until police have had an opportunity to speak with the driver, they can’t speculate on the motivation behind the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Comox Valley RCMP and refer to file 2025-13038.
