Comox Valley RCMP are investigating after a pickup truck drove through barriers and into the water at the BC Ferries terminal on Denman Island.
Frontline members of the Comox Valley RCMP responded to the call at approximately 6:45 a.m. on Friday.
Constable Monika Terragni, Media Relations Officer, Comox Valley RCMP, says BC Ferries staff acted very quickly and assisted the driver and passenger in getting out of the water safely.
“Investigators are still reviewing all of the evidence. However, impaired driving is being considered as one of the factors in this incident.”, said Terragni.
The two sustained seemingly minor injuries and one was transported to hospital.
The investigation is ongoing.
Criminal charges will be recommended if deemed appropriate based on a thorough review of all evidence gathered.
