By Josie Patterson

The Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce Chamber Board and staff are thrilled to invite you to gather once again for a virtual awards gala, a “Next Level" quality presentation with Unveil Studios, and an online auction on January 29, 2022.

From start-ups to local legends, the Chamber Awards shine a light on hard-working businesses, business people, and community leaders in 16 categories. They are pleased to introduce the diversity and inclusion award this year to the award collection.

This year's online auction proceeds will be presented to the Upper Island Women of Native Ancestry. Since 1991, the Upper Island Women of Native Ancestry (UIWONA) has provided programs and services to Aboriginal women, children, and families in the Comox Valley and northern Vancouver Island.

the UIWONA society is dedicated to providing resources for families that promote health, happiness, and vitality with Indigenous culture as the foundation. They continually gather wisdom from their Elders while finding innovative ways to strengthen and revitalize the village.

Support outstanding citizens (young and old), businesses (small, new, and large), outstanding business leaders, and not-for-profits in our community.

Keeping Our Word

The word "éy7á7juuthem" means “Language of our People” and is the ancestral tongue of the Homalco, Tla’amin, Klahoose and K’ómoks First Nations, with dialectic differences in each community.

It is pronounced "eye-ya-jooth-hem."
